Minus five, bed moved beside the fire

It’s been too long since we have been here. Busy Christmas with travel and work.

Tonight it’s minus five and there is snow on the ground. Not a lot, but snow still. El Shacko needs warmed up and the fire doesn’t seem to be making inroads in the cold.

In the jeep this morning

We have moved a bed into the main room, piled it up with blankets and duvets and are trying to get warm inside.

The drafts we can now feel will need sealed up. We need thicker carpet.

I learned recently that keeping ash in a house can mean high carbon monoxide levels.. will have to remember to tip it out regularly.

For now, cold cider and warm blankets – need to get my arms inside or they may freeze…
